Zydus MedTech and Braile Biomedica Partner to Expand Next-Gen TAVI Technology Globally
Zydus teams up with Braile Biomedica to market and manufacture cutting-edge TAVI tech, targeting growth in cardiac care across key regions.

Zydus MedTech, a subsidiary of Zydus Lifesciences, has announced a strategic alliance with Brazil-based cardiovascular device innovator Braile Biomedica to exclusively commercialize its Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) technology across India, Europe, and select international markets. As part of the agreement, Zydus MedTech will also retain the rights to manufacture specific components of the TAVI system.

The global TAVI market, currently valued at over $6 billion, is expanding rapidly due to the growing prevalence of aortic stenosis and the increasing preference for minimally invasive heart procedures. Through this partnership, Zydus MedTech will bring Braile Biomedica’s cutting-edge balloon-expandable TAVI system—already recognized for its success in Latin America—to new territories.

Developed from the doctoral work of renowned Brazilian cardiac surgeon Dr. Domingo Braile, the TAVI system features a single-sheet bovine pericardium valve design, which enhances biocompatibility, longevity, and functionality. The device is engineered to navigate complex vascular structures, be collapsible for delivery, and remain structurally sound and fully operational upon deployment—highlighting its advanced design and clinical potential.

Zydus and Braile plan to launch a series of innovations over the next three years, backed by a clinical research program set to begin in the covered regions by next year. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in delivering next-generation cardiac care solutions to a broader patient population.
