Tata 1mg has partnered with Unicommerce, a leading SaaS-based e-commerce enabler, to enhance its operational efficiency and logistics management as the demand for digital healthcare services grows across India. This collaboration aims to automate order processing, improve inventory accuracy, and streamline logistics for Tata 1mg’s extensive range of wellness and healthcare products.
By adopting Unicommerce’s multi-channel order and warehouse management systems, Tata 1mg will improve fulfilment speed and accuracy across more than 1,000 Indian cities. The system's demand forecasting and batching capabilities help reduce overstocking and detect expired or defective products, supporting timely recalls or prioritised sales.
Tata 1mg, which offers nutritional supplements, personal care items, ayurvedic remedies, medical devices, and orthopaedic supports, has rapidly expanded its product availability on various online platforms. The integration with Unicommerce allows seamless operations across its website and marketplaces, further enhancing the customer experience.
Ketan Bhatia, VP of Consumer Products at Tata 1mg, emphasized that the partnership is a strategic move to offer a smoother shopping experience. Kapil Makhija, CEO of Unicommerce, highlighted the importance of tech adoption in healthcare for prompt delivery and enhanced consumer satisfaction.
India’s e-pharmacy market, valued at over $394 million in 2024, is expected to double by 2030, driven by growing digital adoption and government initiatives like the Digital Health Incentive Scheme. Unicommerce, supporting over 10,000 brands through its platforms Uniware, Shipway, and Convertway, plays a significant role in this digital transformation.
