In a significant move to address the rising concerns of diabetes in India, Roche Diabetes Care has launched comprehensive awareness and education programs aimed at both healthcare professionals and the general population.
The initiative is anticipated to make a substantial impact, reaching over 5,000 healthcare professionals and patients across the country.
As part of these initiatives, Roche Diabetes Care has introduced the 'Nurses on Diabetes' program, an online education platform developed in collaboration with the Endocrine & Diabetes Foundation.
This platform is designed to enhance the diabetes management skills of nurses, offering e-health coaching to further strengthen their capabilities in dealing with diabetes-related issues.
In collaboration with the Maharashtra State Government, Roche is actively supporting diabetes awareness and screening camps in the Thane district. These camps align with the 'Ayushman Bhav' campaign, with over 1,500 individuals screened for diabetes as of November 2023.
Expanding its engagement with healthcare providers, Roche has partnered with 230 Doctor Support Centres in India. These centers serve as hubs for interaction with diabetes nurse educators, facilitating education for more than 3,000 individuals on the importance of self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG).
To reinforce the message of diabetes control, Roche has launched the pan-India awareness campaign, 'Control Diabetes with Every Check.' This campaign emphasizes the significance of self-monitoring blood glucose and underscores the role of technology in empowering individuals dealing with diabetes.
Omar Sherief Mohammad, Cluster Head for India, the Middle East, and Africa at Roche Diabetes Care, emphasized the importance of knowledge, early diagnosis, and sustained programs in diabetes care. He highlighted the role of private-public partnerships in the ongoing battle against diabetes in India.
These initiatives collectively represent Roche Diabetes Care's commitment to combating diabetes through a multifaceted approach, combining education, awareness, and proactive screening efforts to make a positive impact on the diabetes landscape in India.
