Rizwan Koita, Director of Koita Foundation and co-founder of CitiusTech, has been appointed as the chairperson of the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers (NABH), marking a significant milestone in the healthcare sector.

Koita, who has served as a board member of NABH for the past two years, brings a wealth of experience and expertise in healthcare technology and business scaling to his new role.

Jaxay Shah, Chairman of the Quality Council of India (QCI), expressed his delight at Koita's appointment, emphasizing his global perspective and insights into healthcare and technology. Shah highlighted Koita's potential to expand NABH's reach across India and enhance its services to cater to all segments of the healthcare ecosystem.

In his statement, Koita outlined his vision for NABH, emphasizing its pivotal role in improving healthcare accessibility, measurability, and cost-effectiveness, particularly in small and mid-sized healthcare facilities across India. He also underscored NABH's potential to drive the adoption of digital health and initiatives like the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), aligning with national priorities.

Koita's illustrious career includes co-founding CitiusTech in 2005, a global healthcare technology company, and serving as its CEO until October 2021. Under his leadership, CitiusTech emerged as one of the fastest-growing healthcare technology companies globally and India's 25th Unicorn in 2019, pioneering advancements in healthcare technology.

Currently, Koita is actively involved in his philanthropic venture, Koita Foundation, dedicated to driving digital health adoption in India. Through partnerships with leading academic institutions, hospitals, and industry associations, Koita Foundation aims to revolutionize healthcare delivery in the country.

Koita's contributions to the healthcare sector have been recognized with prestigious awards, including IIT Bombay's Distinguished Alumni Award in 2019 and the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2013, further solidifying his reputation as a visionary leader in healthcare innovation.
