Medulance, a New Delhi-based emergency healthcare startup, has raised $3 million in Series A funding led by Alkemi Growth Capital. Notable investors such as Dexter Capital, Aman Gupta (co-founder of Boat), and Namita Thapar (Executive Director, Emcure Pharmaceuticals) also participated in the round.
Operating profitably as a bootstrapped company for six years, Medulance plans to utilize the fresh capital to scale its operations nationwide. The funds will fuel technological advancements aimed at reducing emergency call response times and enhancing service efficiency across over 500 cities in India.
With ambitious goals, Medulance is set to expand its reach to 1,000 cities over the next 15-18 months, focusing on tier 2 and tier 3 cities. Additionally, it plans to establish public-private partnerships to extend its services to 3-4 more states in the coming years.
“Our vision is to create a 360-degree emergency response ecosystem. Leveraging advanced technologies like 5G and smart monitoring through our smart ambulances, we aim to partner with corporates, governments, and insurers to enhance emergency services,” said Ravjot Singh Arora, Co-founder and COO.
Since its launch in 2017, Medulance has expanded its fleet to 10,000 ambulances across India, reducing emergency response times from five minutes to two. Earlier this year, the company launched the Medulance Healthcare Academy to train a skilled paramedic workforce, further reinforcing its mission to redefine emergency care in India.
