Karnataka government highlights investment potential in dermatology and cosmetic treatments, with KWIN City set to become a key healthcare hub.

The Karnataka government has identified significant investment opportunities in the dermatology and cosmetic medical treatment sectors, particularly within the upcoming KWIN City project.
During the Bharat Summit of Laser Medicine and Surgery (BSLMS) in Whitefield, M B Patil, Minister for Large and Medium Industries, emphasized Karnataka’s growing presence in the medical industry. He highlighted that the state is currently manufacturing 350 critical medical instruments and is home to numerous startups in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors.
Karnataka has also emerged as a leader in medical IT solutions, PCR machines, heart stents, insulin pens, and other essential healthcare devices. Minister Patil noted that medical devices, digital health, and diagnostics are evolving rapidly, with Karnataka-based companies spearheading technological advancements in these fields.
Stressing the importance of leveraging medical and engineering institutions, he highlighted the need for affordable healthcare and faster treatment solutions to strengthen credibility in the sector. Additionally, he underscored the role of research, innovation, and practical applications in driving progress in medical technology.
The event was attended by Dr. Arun Inamdar, Professor of Dermatology at BM Patil Medical College, Dr. BS Chandrashekar, Chairman and MD of Cutis Groups, and other key industry professionals.
