Heartnet India has launched Hridaya, an IoT-powered initiative aimed at improving cardiac healthcare for rural women by enhancing early detection and accessibility. The program trained 700-800 ASHA workers and eight self-help groups in ECG screening and teleconsultation, equipping them with IoT-enabled devices to facilitate remote healthcare access.

Announced on March 8 to mark International Women’s Day, Hridaya introduced local doctors and healthcare workers to telehealth solutions. In collaboration with BKR Clinic and Diagnostic Center, the initiative conducted ECG training on March 21, led by Dr. Shantanu Maity and Dr. Neelanjana Ghosh. The following day, 15 women underwent cardiac screenings, emphasizing the need for early intervention.

The RMP Doctor Association participated, reinforcing a community-driven approach to strengthening rural healthcare. ASHA workers and local doctors recognized the impact of IoT-enabled devices in reducing hospital visits and accelerating diagnoses. Dr. Shantanu Maity highlighted the importance of early screening, while Arindam Sen, CEO of Heartnet India, emphasized Hridaya’s role in transforming rural cardiac care through technology and training.

Looking ahead, 20 additional IoT devices will be deployed on April 15, marking the expansion of large-scale cardiac screenings. Heartnet India aims to extend this model to other rural communities, leveraging technology to bridge healthcare gaps and improve cardiac care accessibility.
