A harrowing discovery by the Delhi Police revealed an illicit surgical operation thriving within Agarwal Medical Centre in Greater Kailash. Tragic post-operative fatalities and the revelation of unqualified individuals masquerading as doctors ignited a probe that unraveled a network of malpractice.

In a shocking revelation, the Delhi Police have uncovered a clandestine operation at Agarwal Medical Centre in Greater Kailash, South Delhi, leading to several post-operative deaths and a wave of concerns regarding illegal surgeries conducted by unqualified individuals.
The investigation unfolded after a complaint filed by a woman from Sangam Vihar, alleging the death of her husband following gallbladder stone removal at the center. Promised a surgery by a renowned surgeon, Dr. Jaspreet Singh, the operation was instead conducted by individuals posing as doctors—Dr. Mahender Singh and Dr. Pooja—later revealed as fake credentials. The patient experienced severe post-surgery complications and tragically succumbed at Safdarjung Hospital.
Further scrutiny exposed a string of irregularities: fabricated documents, absence of qualified surgeons during surgeries, and deficiencies in the medical center. The autopsy report of another deceased patient, Asgar Ali, pointed to complications from surgery, deepening suspicions of malpractice.
Following these distressing events, the Delhi Police made significant arrests, including Dr. Neeraj Agarwal, his wife Pooja Agarwal (allegedly impersonating a doctor), Mahender (ex-lab technician), and Dr. Jaspreet, who falsified surgery notes. Their arrests were grounded in compelling evidence of planned surgeries by unqualified personnel.
The authorities also seized damning evidence—a cache of prescription slips bearing only doctor signatures, registers documenting patient details of performed abortions, and an alarming collection of banned medicines, expired surgical tools, and injections.
The revelation of this illegal surgery racket has triggered widespread concern, not only for the lives lost but also for the potential risks faced by unsuspecting patients in the pursuit of medical treatment.
