Healthtech startup Cloudphysician has announced the appointment of Mandar Vaidya as its India CEO, effective June. The Bengaluru-based company, known for leveraging artificial intelligence to transform ICU and emergency care, aims to scale its tech-driven solutions under Vaidya’s leadership.
Vaidya, with over two decades of experience in global business operations, previously served as Regional CEO at Oyo, overseeing multiple geographies, including Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.
Speaking about his new role, Vaidya said, “By leveraging advanced technology for more precise diagnosis and treatment, we will deliver the best possible outcomes for patients. Together, we will set new benchmarks in healthcare and transform care delivery in hospitals.”
In addition to his corporate leadership, Vaidya serves as an independent director on Cipla’s board and has been a partner at McKinsey & Co., where he spearheaded healthcare strategies for Asia’s hospitals and pharmaceutical companies.
The co-founders, Dhruv Joshi and Dileep Raman emphasized the importance of this leadership change, stating, “Mandar’s deep industry expertise and execution-focused approach will help us expand our reach, enabling us to serve more patients and hospitals. With his guidance, we aim to establish Cloudphysician as the go-to critical-care partner in India.”
Cloudphysician recently raised $10.5 million in Series A funding led by Peak XV Partners, with participation from Elevar Equity and Panthera Peak. Cloudphysician’s AI-powered solutions have enabled a 40% reduction in ICU mortality rates across partner hospitals, managing over 100,000 patients in more than 200 facilities. This leadership change signals a transformative phase in advancing healthcare delivery.
